Transportation Network Company

Concept & research · Project initiated

Explore how a transportation network could connect passengers, drivers, vehicles, and digital dispatch through reliable service operations.

Project purpose

I am starting a research project to understand transportation network operations and develop an original service concept. The focus is the full journey from a ride request to pickup, travel, payment, and support.

Research areas

  • Passenger needs, accessibility, pickup clarity, and service reliability.
  • Driver onboarding, availability, communication, and support.
  • Ride requests, matching, dispatch, routing, and trip status.
  • Vehicle readiness, maintenance planning, and operating records.
  • Pricing models, trip costs, utilization, and service sustainability.
  • Safety processes, incident response, privacy, and requirements to verify before any pilot.

Initial work

  1. Define one passenger group and a specific transportation problem.
  2. Map a proposed trip from request through completion and support.
  3. Compare existing service experiences and record gaps worth investigating.
  4. Create a small dispatch mockup using fictional trips and drivers.

Planned outputs

A service concept brief, passenger and driver journey maps, an operating workflow, a basic cost model, and a dispatch prototype.

First milestone

Describe one transportation use case and draw its complete service workflow. This project is at the concept stage; passenger service and live dispatch have not been launched.
